Ghana TVET service begins 2025 promotion process

The Ghana TVET service recently began its 2025 promotion process. The service is now accepting applications for qualified staff members at varying ranks. In announcing the 2025 promotion, the service expressed its continued commitment to staff advancement and professional development in the field of technical and vocational education.

Circular notification to Staff
In a circular released on 20th April 2026 and signed by Dr. Eric Kofi Adzroe, Director General, management notified all staff of the commencement of the promotion process. All eligible staff were given notification to apply via the online appraisal portal prior to the closing date.
Positions covered
The 2025 promotions cover all areas of employment with the service, including senior management and sub-professionals. As a result, both teachers and administrators will have equal opportunities to advance to the next level based on merit and experience.
Steps for applying
Step one: access the appraisal portal
Staff can access the appraisal portal by logging into https://appraisal.ghanatvet.com/login
Step two: log in
Staff should log into the appraisal portal using their existing login details.
Step three: go to the “promotion” section
Once logged into the appraisal portal, staff need to go to the “promotion” tab.
Step four: complete and submit the application form
Support materials available online
To make the application process easier for staff, management has placed online tutorials for the application process. Tutorials include a video and a step-by-step guide to assist Staff in navigating the system successfully. It is recommended that all staff view these tutorials before submitting their applications.
Closing date for applications
Applications for promotions must be received by Monday, 27th April 2026. All staff are advised to submit their applications as soon as possible to prevent last-minute computer problems when submitting their applications.
Rank positions opened
The promotions are open to a number of different professional and sub-professional levels. Some of the promoted levels include:
- Deputy Director, Principal Manager/Chief
- Tutor Senior Manager/Principal tutor
- Manager/Senior Tutor Assistant
- Manager/Tutor
- Other sub-professional grades, including chief technical instructor, etc.
Eligibility criteria
Eligibility for promotion is subject to strict criteria. Within all categories, applicants will be evaluated against the following eligibility criteria:
- A satisfactory performance evaluation for 2025
- A recommendation from the applicant’s supervisor
- A minimum of four years of continuous service in their current grade.
- Additionally, for higher-level positions (e.g., deputy director), applicants will be required to have earned a master’s degree in the relevant area. For sub-professional positions, applicants will be required to have earned either a diploma or an HND from an accredited school.
Emphasis on Compliance
Management has emphasized that only those applicants who meet all of the above-listed eligibility requirements will be reviewed during the selection process. Once all applications have been closed, each application will be thoroughly reviewed, and then a list of all qualified applicants will be posted. Therefore, it is highly recommended that all eligible Staff examine the attached modalities and adhere to them completely prior to making an application. Failure to comply with any of the eligibility requirements may result in being disqualified from participating in the promotion process.
